Peer Support for People Living with HIV

The Red Iris Project is part of Spectra’s Community Sexual Health Outreach team, offering free, confidential, and non-judgemental peer support for people living with HIV in North West London.

Our service is delivered by trained Peer Support Workers – people with lived experience of HIV who understand the emotional, social, and practical challenges that can come with a diagnosis. Through one-to-one and group sessions, they offer empathy, guidance, and hope to anyone at any stage of their journey.

What We Offer

  • One-to-one peer support – confidential sessions where you can talk openly with someone who understands.
  • Group sessions & workshops – spaces for shared experiences, learning, and connection with others living with HIV.
  • Practical advice – support around self-management, disclosure, relationships, mental wellbeing, and navigating healthcare.
  • Community connections – links to local LGBTQ+ and HIV-friendly groups, healthcare services, and wellbeing resources.
  • Coaching for confidence – supporting you to build self-esteem, set goals, and move forward in your life.

Our Approach

The Red Iris Project is rooted in peer empowermentequality, and community care.
We work from a non-medicalised, trauma-informed, and inclusive perspective – recognising each person’s story, identity, and resilience.

We welcome everyone living with HIV, regardless of background, gender identity, sexuality, or culture.
