Serana Hicks

Serana Hicks (she/her) manages Spectra’s Trans Empowerment Programme, supporting trans and gender-diverse people through services that are shaped by the communities they serve. Her focus is on keeping the programme grounded, accessible, and responsive to real lived experience. She joined Spectra in 2019 after more than 15 years in residential care, supported housing and complex-needs services. Her background in operational delivery and multidisciplinary work continues to guide her approach. Alongside her role, Serana is training as a counsellor and contributes to strengthening trauma-informed practice across Spectra’s trans services. Her work centres on reducing barriers and creating spaces where trans and gender-diverse people feel supported and heard.
