About the Role
This trainee therapist role offers peer-led therapeutic support for sex workers. The postholder will support the ALEX Project (a peer-led service provided by Advocates with Lived EXperience) therapy service, creating welcoming and affirmative spaces for individuals who may not have found this elsewhere.
The ALEX Project supports sex workers, often from marginalised backgrounds, with many clients from the LGBTQIA+ community, People of the Global Majority, disabled people, asylum seekers & refugees, and more; and we support people with their mental health and overall wellbeing. Because this is a peer-focused service, we particularly value applicants who bring relevant lived experience, or strong understanding of the issues and barriers faced by the communities this role supports.
