What it offers

Trans and non-binary groups

Spectra’s Empowerment and Support Programme runs peer-led Non-Binary and Trans Groups. These offer a space for people across the trans and nonbinary spectrum, as well as those questioning their gender identity, to meet and connect with likeminded individuals. The groups provide a safe and welcoming environment to explore, discuss and support each other.

The groups address a range of issues trans people face, such as social isolation, stigma, prejudice and transphobia, which can lead to gender dysphoria and poor mental health. Empowerment is a key feature of our social groups.

At Spectra we centre trans and non-binary people and hold space for them to exist authentically within our community groups. We offer two groups:

  • Non-Binary group, only for non-binary people. This group runs every other Wednesday
  • A general trans group, and all for trans, non-binary and questioning people. This group runs every Friday.

You can join one or both groups based on your gender identity.

Social Group Agreement (updated 02/2024)

In order to make our online social groups a safe space for everyone to attend these are some basic rules devised by the group for the Social Group participation. The group will periodically revisit and amend the list of rules if necessary, to ensure these rules still work for the group. Any queries comments or concerns about the group rules can be brought up by the group at a session, or you can email: transservice@spectra-london.org.uk.
