Karen (she/her) is Spectra’s founder and was CEO of Spectra until 2024. She has worked in the third sector for over 30 years, starting at the National AIDS Trust in 1992, moving to the International Community of Women Living with HIV, and finally to the West London Gay Men’s Project in 1995. From this Karen set up Spectra as an independent, new social enterprise in 2012. Karen remains on Spectra’s Board of Directors and is now CEO at a Youth Mental Health charity outside of London where she continues to grow and direct services for under-served communities.
