Elizabeth Byrne

Liz (she/her) is the Town Clerk, Chief Executive Officer and Responsible Financial Officer at Crewe Town Council, where she leads strategic operations, civic leadership, and financial governance with a strong focus on regeneration and community engagement. She joined the Spectra CIC Board of Directors in September 2025, bringing charity fundraising and strategic development experience across public and third sector organisations.

After beginning her career in the legal profession and qualifying as a solicitor specialising in criminal and prison law, Liz spent 11 years at Engaging Communities Solutions (ECS),a Community Interest Company established to amplify patient voices in health and social care. Having initially joined ECS as the Advocacy Manager in 2014, Liz was appointed as the Chief Executive in 2019 and spent 6 years delivering statutory advocacy, Healthwatch services, and social research across health and social care sectors throughout England.
