Vikki Chalklin (they/she) works for Spectra as a counsellor and Trans Counselling Service Lead. Trained in Psychosynthesis, they work in an integrative way drawing from a range of approaches to meet clients where they are and provide a supportive, non-judgemental space in which to explore their challenges as well as build on their strengths.
Vikki is passionate about making therapeutic services inclusive and accessible to LGBTQ+ individuals and is devoted to ensuring Spectra continues to provide high quality, peer-led and cost-free counselling to under-served communities. They hold a keen awareness of the intersecting systemic forms of marginalisation that have a profound effect on mental health and wellbeing, and work in a way that acknowledges the impact(s) of racism, sexism, ableism, trans-, homo- and bi-phobia, fatphobia, classism and precarity amongst others. In addition to counselling Vikki continues to work as an academic, where their interest lies in queer art and cultural production.
